My transgender daughter waited for more than 3 months for a locally elected district judge to sign off on a name and gender change. It never happened and I can only assume that either cowardice or fear of a smear campaign during the next election cycle kept him or her from doing the right thing by signing off on the changes. Now that Trump is back in office and signing an executive order against recognizing gender identity changes, it appears to be too late. (2/3)
