If you're trying to tell a marginalized group about their oppression and your arguments are based on you being marginalized in a different way, you probably don't know what you're talking about. Also, the term "Oppression Olympics" originates in discussion between Elizabeth Martínez and Angela Davis, so maybe this isn't a new problem and some folks should really have a think about how much they work to rhetorically minimize the oppression of others.
