These paper printouts (image below) are claiming to be “paper crypto wallet” are left in places with high foot traffic (cafes, bus stops, metro stations) The printout has a holographic label to claim authenticity and a slip for purchase of $9,000 US in bitcoin. The key of the scam is a QR code on the printout that claims to be for “cashing out” of the wallet.
The QR code leads to a website that asks for a payment of a “processing fee” of 3% of the apparent $9,000 US value.
Obviously, once you pay the $300 US, you never see any money back. You receive some subscription to a dummy education site filled with generic videos and PDFs so that you can’t claim a fraud at your bank.
#Cryptocurrency proves to be a #scam even when it’s presented in paper form.
