What I find more surprising though is that these people are VERY quick to demonize eFuels, which I would expect to be the best solution to anyone trying to cut fossil fuel consumption. There are processes being actively researched to produce synthetic fuels (a drop in replacement to gasoline/kerosene/diesel/natural gas) with sequestered CO2 from the atmosphere. This would achieve the stated goal by allowing us to reuse all of our existing infrastructure without fossil fuels, and ALSO giving us a convenient way to store energy for times that we actually need it.
