They simply haven't—yet, anyway—in any meaningful numbers. Not nearly enough people moved, and not nearly enough who did stuck it out, most quietly shuffling back in the ensuing weeks and months.
It is sadly therefore not at all simple. And Musk has sadly therefore learned nothing other than "I can get away with far more than I thought I could". If the same happens with Reddit, they will too.
