No, you should in fact encourage your friends to read Ayn Rand. Just like you should encourage your friends to read Marx or Schmitt. We'd all be better at fruitful conversation if we read more of the most important articulations of ideas we disagree with instead of yet another writer who will tell us what we already believe to be true.
