The key insight is he found a clever way to handle the lifecycle of pubkeys across time that doesn't break trust by allowing social recovery to "rollback" the fork, just like ETH did in 2016. The prov logs are self-certifying, but of course, they need to be stored in a decentralized way. That is an implementation detail. I would prefer a BTC L2 like citrea clementine.
