Can't help noticing that this story is suddenly being given prominence such a short time after the Bill was killed off.
Not sure, though, if this is the Tory right protesting against the Bill's demise, or the leadership trying to disguise the fact that they've abandoned a policy they've held since they were last in opposition.
What does really grate, however, is the complete failure of the political media in covering this. The UK cannot leave the ECHR whilst Northern Ireland remains in the UK. There is no feasible way around this (which the front bench now clearly understand).
Every Tory proposing that we leave the ECHR needs to be asked if they're therefore supporting Irish reunification. Can't have one without the other.
