Since when do children want a Minecraft movie with a live-action Jack Black as opposed to a CGI-animated Steve? Seems to me that successful video game movies just go with CGI animations that actually look like everyone's favorite video game characters, and this is received well by both children and adults, and forcing live action into a movie where it doesn't need to be there is something only Hollywood directors like.
