The tears fall
but find no ground,
only mirrors
and distorted light.
Words like mercury
spill across the soul,
a silver lining got lost
a long time ago.
Petals carried
by the wind,
a promise
of an eternal dream.
Nothing is left but regret
the light now falls
on a dead man's face.
