I fully understand and feel your frustration there.
I can't really blame them though, they're just following their programming, like we are. Theirs is just that top-down thing where they get loaded with any kind of information, no matter how inaccurate, and no critical thinking skills, so it's no wonder they go off like that.
We have the benefit of that bottom-up style of thinking that attracts us to critical thinking and logic, they don't. So while it sucks, it falls to us to do what we can to try and make sure that the young ones get pre-loaded with these skills before they run into all the misinformation in the world. It's like vaccinating them against harmful information viruses (and in memetics is actually called "vaccimes"). As for the ones already infected, well we know from medicine that it's harder to cure than prevent, but it's not impossible. For some of the worst cases it may take cancer-level decades of research, and not many of us are going to be up that fight, but just like that goal, I think that it's a worthy one. If not just for their sake, but for ours, so we don't have to put up with this crap anymore.
