Waiting on the plumber.
There is a bar with sink in the basement. Somehow the drain line from the kitchen sink connects with the drain line that serves that basement sink.
Infrequently the drain line backs up. The result is water that goes down the kitchen sink (and from the dishwasher) somehow backs up into the basement sink.
Usually a thorough snaking of the drain line resolves the issue. However this time I also noticed a small leak under the basement sink.
Could be a rough service call.
