How is "environmental pollution" limited to proprietary technology?

I think its the other way around, forcing USB-C to assume the role it was not designed to play, its a hammer that looks at every solution as if it was a nail.

You cannot reduce "environmental pollution" by deploying sub-standard designs, limited by the still relatively new USB-C standard. IoT, small robotics will drain a dozen more to operate or even to charge. Technology designed around the USB-C standard soon will become cheap trinkets where you have to buy a dozen to get one functional.

USB-C is like PoE - it serves a niche. I never had to use PoE because my use case allows me to bring the grid to every site. If I had to wire a site where PoE is needed I would turn it over someone who trust it, and can guarantee it to work.

I distrust all one-size-fits-all solutions, not just USB-C. In my reality "environmental pollution" is not my concern. As the matter of fact everything advertised as "green" is a brand I do not use.
