anyway, been pondering about how religions and secret societies must necessarily have an exoteric component to it in order to sustain their esoteric component
what brought it to my attention is the saying that "merely chanting the sutras adds to one's merit". like, isn't that borderline worshipping the sutra without even understanding it, kinda
but then i thought about how even though the normalfag doesn't understand what they're reciting, the mere act of them reciting it helps keep the text propagated even until today, which objectively, yes it's indeed meritable since it allows others in the future to still have access to it, giving the possibility that some of them are able to make sense out of the text themselves
additionally normalfags are the ones donating and keeping things running even though they'll never reach any significant initiation, and that's always important
(the alternative is having only a dozen or so people who know the Truth but dying out in a single generation because they can't find a way to sustain it across time)
then, of course, to keep the religion palatable to the normalfags so they actually do stuff for you, authority figures must be introduced for them to have a target to worship even if the higher levels of the religion barely have anything to do with those figures, because it's the propensity of normalfags to need to worship authority figures
similarly, for rotary clubs etc it's the normalfags paying most of the dues, just throw them a few toy degrees to make them feel included so they stay on and you can better spend your time subverting governments or whatever
so in the end they're still cattle that will never reach the Truth, except you treat them nicely like the family cow instead of exploiting them every chance you get. even if you get closer to the Truth, you must still, in front of the normalfag, pretend that their version of the religion is the correct one
