From the contexts I have seen a #hellthread is where a large number of accounts get mentoined unnecessarily and as a result all getting a stream of irrelevant notifications.
Lot of noise drowning the signal.
Quoted the question so trying to not make it worse.
Muted the hellthread origin post or the originator of that's the only way.
What's a hellthread? I assume it has something to do with pinging many people
