Exactly.
Years ago my band was asked to provide music for a new cable TV show that eventually became somewhat popular. They wanted us to compromise on a few issues including publishing, so they could make additional money off our music when it was used in the show. (Very shady, but legal).
We declined and they ended up using a different band that I guess was willing to compromise. These are the kinds of micro decisions that are made every day in the art/culture world which add up to creating a homogenized corporate culture of mediocrity.

quoting nevent1q…r0rcThe fiat world has created this
A world with such high time preference cannot be patient, cannot focus on quality, and cannot take risks
Everything from music, to cinema, to architecture, to visual art, etc, is created the quickest and cheapest way possible
An artless world, where everything is played safe - ensures profitability
Because the risk of not being profitable is too high
Once you see it, you can’t un-see it
