Chris, when you drive, do you put your car in any lane you choose? Or do you quite reasonably drive on the right side of the road? ("Right" here meaning "appropriate", but I also assume you're in the USA because of your Tulsi Gabbard image.)
We humans are very good at understanding the consequences of our actions when the results are immediate and visible. Most of us quickly recognize what's moral and ethical when we know it'll cause harm not just to ourselves but also to others.
However, when the results are delayed and distributed among people we don't know, many of us do need to be taught ethics and morals… and these often are underpinned with legal consequences.
Please get with the program already: masks and COVID-related protections aren't mere "opinions," they're equivalent to traffic lights and rules.
We keep each other safe. And we all need to hear this.
