The one and only thing I'm willing to give Apple here is that the "crank this to control the blend from fully immersive VR to floating AR" is cool

Unfortunately it's completely useless without meaningful input hardware. Which they don't have. Which is why their idea of "gaming" in VR is holding a gamepad.

So it's classic Apple, good hardware held back by garbage lock-in choices made at the software level.
