Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, launched the 'Sief Al Shaf' cycling competition for Emirati amateur riders today, Sunday, as part of the 9th edition of the Dubai International Cycling Tour, organized by the Personal Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai. The competition is the largest of its kind in the world in terms of diversity and financial prizes, with a total of 3.5 million dirhams.Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, accompanied by Omar bin Juma Al Falasi, Director General of the Personal Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, visited the competition village and inspected the preparations made by the organizing committee for the 143-kilometer route in the Siyahl area of the natural reserve.The competition featured a festive atmosphere, and the 'Sief Al Shaf' trophy was launched in honor of Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's recent graduation from the Royal Sandhurst Academy in the UK, where he received the 'Sief Al Shaf' award for international students and the first place in academic and applied military studies, becoming the first Emirati graduate to achieve both honors simultaneously.In the results, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Nuaimi's team achieved a double victory in the individual and team categories, with the team's riders taking the top three places in the individual category, led by Abdulaziz Salah, followed by his teammate Rashid Mohammed Al Blooshi in second place, and Hail Al Harbi in third place. The team also won the team category, followed by the Dubai Police team, and the third place went to the team of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Nuaimi.In other results, Tariq Al Blooshi of the Yas team won the category for riders over 40 years old, and Saud Al Zaabi won the sprint category for the middle section of the route. A total of 152 riders participated in the competition, including individual riders and teams such as Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Nuaimi 'A' and 'B', Dubai Police 'A' and 'B', Dubai State Security 'A' and 'B', Al Ain Cycling Team, Al Wathba 'A' and 'B', Air Racing, Amigo, Breakaway, Yas 'A' and 'B', and Jou Saklen Dubai and Rabadan 'A' and 'B'.
