I really don’t want to do it but seems like I’m gonna have to setup a diffracted laser at 650 nanometers and look at it while on non breakthrough doses of DMT.
Because everything in my being is adamant that the simulation/computational universe idea is not only paradigmatic nonsense but unhealthy as a popular idea in our culture.
The guy also posits that we are AGI, another idea I’m adamant will not come to fruition, whether we are it (that’s a new one) or create it, I just don’t buy the sci-fi wet dream.
I know they seem like benign ideas but they’re bordering on the line of being presented as fact, with very unusual evidence. The documentary is purporting it to be the most important discovery ever.
That’s dangerous rhetoric, especially in such a nihilistic time with such a widespread lack of belief in higher meaning and hope.
I’m prepared to be wrong but it’s something of a curse and a blessing with things like this for me, I have to know it for myself.
There’s no equivocation here, the words mean what we all know they mean; simulation, code. I’ve posted before, after much research, as to why I don’t think our brain is a fucking computer or that we’re living in one.
So I must set up a diffracted laser.
Just to know for certain.
That this guy is a fucking idiot.
