The Harris campaign could stand up its own instance overnight. Savvy social media managers for the campaign could drive millions of new users to the Fediverse in days.
It seems a problem lies in insufficient understanding of how decentralized social media works (and doesn't). It's definitely an opportunity if the campaign wants to invest resources in it.
