I have been rereading Christopher Hitchens's two-part Harper's essay, "The Case Against Kissinger," and even allowing for Hitchens's tendency to say 2 + 2 = 5 this is a powerful indictment. This Memorial Day we grieve the many thousand American soldiers Kissinger and Nixon sent pointlessly to their deaths in 1969-1972, plus untold numbers of Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Latotians. We should not celebrate Kissinger's centennial.
