Most companies do stuff that candidates overwhelmingly consider a waste of time. If you just don't do that kind of junk, hiring becomes easy.
When I did hiring, I did the outbound and initial contact myself and ended up with response rates that recruiters find unbelievable (~50% for outbound). And I did a fair amount of hiring before I had a blog and no one knew who I was and had similar success.
