I can tell you, working at a legal aid nonprofit in a blue state under the Trump admin has been some of the most stressful and trying work I’ve been a part of in my entire career.

We’ve seen many clients on visas and green cards get swept up in raids. ICE hiding in court basements. Families separated from children. Legal immigrant communities terrified to travel or seek healthcare.

It’s been super, super dark. I’m literally talking about legal immigrants with no criminal records, not to mention those on paths to citizenship that now are in danger of being sent back home to war and gang plagued neighborhoods that threaten their lives before coming here.
