My argument about EV's has always been based on it's production cost vs keeping an older petrol/diesel car running.
Your avg family sized EV with about an 80kwh battery. Takes in the region of 40-50k miles just to offset it's production cost.
Any driver doing less than 5k miles a year (like myself) would take 10yrs just to start save pollutants at all. 10yrs in, the battery is reaching the end of it's useful life and is probably 60-65% of it's capacity.
