I could understand the criticism against Linux audio 20 years ago, when the only available solutions were OSS and ALSA and Jack still required some black magic to work properly. Or even 10 years ago, when the mutual incompatibility between OSS, ALSA, Jack and Pulseaudio was a source of nightmares.
But today? Pulseaudio is quite mature, and Pipewire provides a drop-in compatibility layer with basically any existing audio systems. IMHO today Linux audio is in a much, much better shape than even Windows and MacOS.
