Peter, I was interested to listen to this podcast because Mike has a different view than most people I follow in this space. He also is so certain that all his ideas and opinions are the most well thought out, and I was hoping that he would have a very succinct and clear picture of why he is so self assured in his beliefs. I don't think he came anywhere near painting that picture.
I think you did a good job facilitating the discussion and pushing back where you thought it was appropriate. Some of the topics covered include information that you just don't have at your fingertips so it's hard to have a conversation like that in real time.
But, one thing that really stuck out to me was his commentary on the current state of the US economy. You could basically write off the conversation when he started quoting a Wall Street Journal opinion survey as proof that Harris' economy would do better than Trump's because "x number of experts agree". But I wanted to give it a fair listen and that is my feedback.
The fact that he thinks the middle class is doing well in the US because they are going to Disney is a complete joke.

Consumer debt is at an all time high. People are trying to keep up with the Jones' and it's going to end horribly. There is no way that Mike isn't aware of this.
Another thing he seems to gloss over is the fact that Kamala is the sitting VP. He's willing to overlook her Marxist talking points from years ago (then spent the last 15 minutes focusing on Vance's old comments), based on her current rhetoric. But, if she really has moved on the political spectrum, why are her actions as a sitting VP not showing that? It seems that only the campaign rhetoric has shifted. Nice that he is willing to give one side that benefit.
