I have a Showy Mountain Ash that has bright orange berries from Aug-Dec, or until the birds finish eating them. Can fill a tree-sized hole. Should do fine around Montreal.
It does have a peculiar smell while flowering in June/July, to me, like the smell of air let out of a tire.
