It can happen to me e.g. when I am sad/upset or feel powerless about an injustice and someone's telling me that I could simply change my perspective on it and then would not need to have any negative emotions whatsoever. And I know that this is true. But again, I might then tangle myself up in thoughts like "Why give me advice like that when you could just as well tell me that you can understand me and that you struggle with things like that as well".
