Some people think it doesn't matter where you write to, only where you read from, but I've had more or less pleasant experiences on here, depending upon which "audience" I reach with my OP.
If they don't see it, they don't respond to it, so that keeps my threads civilized, even if you look at them on Nostr.band or some other aggregator.
That's why I will never have a gazillion followers, but I don't mind that.
