Interesting. Where I live used to be covered with flax which was harvested for linen.
I have grown and raised quite a bit of flax myself but normally wharariki which is shorter compared to the taller and softer harakeke that we’re more familiar with.
I’m not sure what they’re harvesting in that last picture but that species looks awfully tiny and fiddly to use for linen!
