Too much stuff is also overwhelming and unhealthy and also bad for kids, thinking here of two people I know with MH issues and the most bloody awful houses, utter tips and stuffed to the ceiling with crap etc, makes you want to spend the next 6 months in an empty room with just a coffee table and one armchair kind of thing, but there is a happy medium.
As I said, it is the smug I am so superior a being that comes with this kind of shit that I hate, the shite mentioned re the "clean girl", WTF is that when it's at home, do people live their lives like this?
I'm drawn to colour, but I also like these rooms one sees on insta that are all different kinds of whites and antiques in them, very cross between a brocante and somewhere scandi with great light, I love that, but it takes a lot of effort to create, and money, and is no doubt a pain in the arse to maintain as well, and not really child friendly.
Leaving aside people who genuinely do like minimal and pale don't underestimate the controlling aspect of the kind of thing already mentioned, and yes, often in men, it is a definite thing.
