I think where ppl get confused about why net zero is impossible is understanding a difference of quality vs quantity. We say okay CDR exists but not at relevant scale. We're used to treating challenges of quantity as easily solvable: okay just build it bigger.
But at some point a great enuf quantity becomes a qualitative change.
Lifting 10 lbs or 10,000 lbs isn't a big deal, that's just a difference of quantity. Lifting a trillion lbs is a qualitative change, it's a totally different problem.
