I like it. Anything in the user interface that tries to paper-over how federation actually works (like remote servers not showing you posts from people who have blocked you, even when there's no authorized fetch enabled) is all just false-sense-of-security maxing. The servers have to keep your original post around to preserve threading, better that they don't also lie to you about it.
