I’m happy to announce that TBD Lightning has hired Block’s second pseudonymous dev, John Cantrell! (We hired the first one too 👀)
John has gotten to know rust, LDK and lightning inside and out over the past year through his work on Sensei, a lightning node implementation. John’s work was supported by a Spiral grant
Whenever I’ve been looking into a new lightning concept (like 0-conf channels), somehow I’ve always found John there, nearly finishing up implementing it in code himself. John has a knack for grokking the new stuff in this space and understanding through building.
After agreeing to come on board, John actually pinged me and told me he was actually just in the middle of writing a library implementing Jesse Posner and ZmnSCPxj’s Swap in Potentiam.
John’s experience building and his propensity to share his work and knowledge around lightning is a huge boon for our team, and I’m ecstatic to have him join what’s turning out to be a dream team.
Excited to share more about our progress soon.
