Poem a day, Day #33

Mind burned out, baked brain syndrome.
Pockets, turned out, poverty in rhythm.
Amygdyla wrecked, emotions unchecked,
Thoughts separated by schism.

Deep sleep, slumber singing atonal.
Dark creep, shadow slithers, crossmodal.
Feelings on skin, ears ringing in sin,
Seeing and feeling immobile.

A new dawn, and breakfast in the kitchen.
Panic gone, mom mending and stichin'.
But memory remains of last night's pain,
If only they would listen.
