Different senses and more advanced technology could definitely be part of it, but I guess I’m more asking about ways that the ways that film could be done differently even today with human beings if technology or culture had been different historically.
As just one example, when someone in a movie is having a shocking realization, the camera often zooms in on their face. Is this just a convention that could be different?
And why do movies tend to be about 1-2 hours long? Maybe really long ones would have been popular if a different culture had developed film.
