There are a few things in this life worth owning, and not skimping on, but really only a few. Most of the nonsense they hawk at us on a daily basis are useless, overbuilt, or unnecessary, but there are a few exceptions. They include such seemingly insignificant items as quality windshield wipers, well-made leather boots, and a decent chef’s knife. It’s this last item that I think gets overlooked most often.
