#WritersCoffeeClub 9 — Have you ever abandoned a writing project that wasn't working? What was wrong?

Enough times that it hurts. It's always that I don't know how the story ends or have clear goals for the story. Every so often I get great ideas to start a novel: super setups, empathetic characters, compelling situations. I get hopeful that I might power on.

But if I don't know where I'm going with it...

I've sat on a novel sequel for many years now. My beta reader who follows me will know which. He's even made some great suggestions where I could go with it, but I still haven't found my way beyond that one chapter (though I elude to what happens in other stories). I'm about to release the chapter as a novelette because it's compelling... and then I can stop thinking about it!!

I don't think the readers will hate me.
