How to ALMOST ruin a meal: accidentally press the Celsius button on your instant-read thermometer, when you live in the US, then blame the oven for only getting the chicken up to 99 degrees after 45 minutes of cooking when it needs to be 165 degrees. Thank goodness dark meat is so forgiving -- not so much the peppers cooking alongside it.
