I think Zelensky has been a good leader, though I’ll admit I don’t know all the details. But he’s still standing after years of war with Russia, and he’s managed to secure significant financial and military support for Ukraine. That seems pretty effective to me. Ukraine actually had nuclear weapons at one point but gave them up in the 1990s under the Budapest Memorandum, in exchange for security assurances from the U.S., U.K., and Russia.
