At some stage we've gone from:

"I could replace that person with a 4-line shell script"

to:

"I could replace that person with a vast network of data centers using up most of the world's GPUs and significant amounts of energy and fresh water, running an opaque application trained on the sum total of human textual output"

and honestly it doesn't have the same ring to it.
