Went to the Pokemon pop up store opened in one of Paris' biggest store and advertised extensively (they paid a bunch of influencers and journos to post about it opening). The entire exterior has been decorated with Pokemon stuff, they had a few Pikachu statues and pokemon figurines everywhere inside.
The actual pop up store is a small corner in the store with very few products. To get in you need to first queue up outside to get a ticket to be able to queue up inside and get into that pokemon corner. Once inside you can only buy 1 (one) Pokemon product.
What are they selling to limit it to 1 product? 3 different t-shirts, 2 different hoodies, a few plushies, mugs and some tcg tins (of the 2 previous set).
They don't even have sizes above S anymore, most of the plushies have sold out while the TCG stuff and mugs are sold in plenty of other stores in Paris.
Didnt bother queuing but the queue today is over an hour long. The store opened on february 1st and the queue was over 7h long for the first few days. It closes on march 2nd.
2 reasons: A TCG promo card obtainable if you've spent over 30€ and scalpers.
I honestly don't understand why The Pokemon Company hates money so much. Just open a Pokemon Center in Paris already. It's the 2nd time something like this has happened here. The first was in june 2014 and it was the only legit way of obtaining Pokeball form Vivillon for a while.
Anyway, if any of you planned on taking a look, don't bother.
