My Game Gear has arrived from eBay!
Wish the seller had mentioned that bugs used it as habitation since 1995, but I've cleaned up worse. Now that I have the board version, I'm putting together an order for replacement capacitors right now!
I only grabbed a couple quick reference pictures, but the system does work. The LCD is only viewable from a really awkward angle, which usually indicates a bad capacitor somewhere on the board.
