Things like selinux, apparmor, systemd, can reasonably slow down the performance. Some distros also compile packages with extra security layer, (e.g. RHEL variants, alpine linux), making the performance goes a bit downward, but generally unnoticeable and can effectively increase overall system security.

I think a better way to benchmark this is to compile FreeBSD and Gentoo (non-systemd) from source, and then installation (both have same specs) and then test several things on them.
