Apple people: I plan to buy the new, rumoured Mac Mini to use as a desktop computer. Will I regret saving money on internal storage and buy one or more external SSDs?

I guess internal storage will be faster, but I don't think that will matter much for me. Any other downsides?

I mainly need the storage for my iCloud photo library that I want to back up from that machine.
