The agriculture lobbyists have always been very clever in the rhetoric they use when opposing necessary climate action. They constantly refer to the small family farmers, the "custodians of the countryside", who they imagine are being driven off the land, but the reality is that the measures they oppose will hit the profits of the large corporate agriculture sector hardest. As Mr Finn says, small farmers are already ahead of the curve in environmental practices.
