As I think about it, in University— my friend from Japan, with limited English would write out the Spanish course book over and over, in an insanely neat manner. Dude pried himself out of a broken elevator (had grease on his hands to prove it), and would fall asleep at the library and stuff— he went into the final exam with a 74 out of 75%.
That was only written but it gave him a massive advantage. He knew the verb conjugation inside and out.
