we need some standards for clients. i'm not talking about rules. for example maybe every client should support reactions and request deletion, maybe they should all use the same banner resolution. there are certain things that should be achieved when developing a client.

does a mobile phone have to have a camera? no. but today every mobile phone has a camera.

i'm sure nostr will have these standards in time. right now you can see that there is an inconsistency when you try to perform the same operations on the same protocol on different clients.

maybe we should choose a jargon to guide us when comparing clients. this could be based on which/how many nips they support. for example

amethyst - sudo ( Vitor Pamplona (npub1gcx…nj5z) )
damus - daily ( jb55 (npub1xts…kk5s) )
primal - rookie ( primal (npub12vk…pugg) )

i'm watching the development of all the clients with interest and trying to learn from them. i'm also developing a client called qiqstr. we're at a very early stage and it's exciting to see what happens.
