Ideally they just program in a time wall that ratchets ever higher every time an npub gets REfollowed.

If you accidentally unfollowed me and you wanted to refollow. No big deal. It happens.

The next time it happens, you have to wait 5 minutes before you can refollow. The next time is an hour. The next time is a day. The next time is a week. The next is 90 days. Then a year.

Feels like that would work.
